Barbara Seaman, Managing Editor wheatchild@networksplus.net Barbara Seaman is a freelance writer living in Lawrence, Kansas. Her articles, essays, stories and poems appear in an eclectic mix of mainstream and literary magazines such as Modern Maturity, Marriage Partnership, Troika, JAMA and Image.
Georgirene D. Vladutiu, Ph.D., Science Editor Dr. Vladutiu is Professor of Pediatrics, Neurology and Pathology at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Director of the Robert Guthrie Biochemical Genetics Laboratory at Children's Hospital of Buffalo. The recipient of an MDA research grant, her recent work has focused on molecular genetic studies of carnitine palmitoyltransferase deficiencies.
Purpose
The Spiral Notebook is an educational resource for professionals interested in carnitine palmitoyltransferase deficiencies, and for patients with these disorders. As of April 2001, The Spiral Notebook is no longer publishing new issues, either paper or electronic. However, the web site content will be maintained indefinitely, and new links, updates and articles will be added from time to time. Significant additions will be noted on the home page.
